Dakota Bear, a talented Indigenous Hip-hop artist and community leader, co-founded Land Back Records and Decolonial Clothing, empowering Indigenous people through music and fashion. With Plains Cree heritage, Dakota hails from Treaty 6 territory in Saskatchewan, Canada. His powerful storytelling resonates with diverse audiences, making him a respected figure in the music industry. His ability to bring the community together by creating safe spaces to share and heal is a large proponent of why he is considered a leader amongst the BIPOC arts community.

As an Indigenous entrepreneur, hip-hop artist, and activist, Dakota Bear's work intertwines cultural traditions and perspectives with community rebuilding. He has collaborated with movements like Idle No More, Missing and Murdered Indigenous Womxn, Girls and Two-Spirited Peoples, and Black Lives Matter, engaging audiences in various movements.

Co-founding Land Back Records and Decolonial Clothing, Dakota strives to empower Indigenous people through music and sustainable, ethically-produced apparel. He also mentors Indigenous youth by conducting workshops to connect, uplift and inspire the next generation of changemakers for the community. Part of Dakota’s success has been using his skills and knowledge to find gaps that the community experiences and find ways to fill them by providing guidance, work opportunities, and insight on how he’s been able to acclimate his career.

As an Indigenous entrepreneur, hip-hop artist, speaker, and activist, husband and father, Dakota Bear's life work has been an essential and healing journey. Sharing cultural traditions and perspectives as an Indigenous person is vital, especially during a time when solutions are sought to rebuild communities. Dakota recognizes the interconnections in all aspects, from dismantling colonial oppression and championing entrepreneurship to promoting mental health and environmental impact.

Dakota's intention is to foster understanding and create more peaceful, connected communities. Through his endeavours, he aims to demonstrate the transformative power of art and culture in building a more equitable society so that all generations can prosper.
